Adhyaya 16 — The Son’s Counsel on Renunciation and the Anasuya–Mandavya Episode: The Suspension of Sunrise and the Power of Pativrata

The instruction culminates in a single-pointed ethic: sustained intention (mati) toward dutiful service is treated as the principal spiritual orientation within this model of household dharma.
A dharma-upadeśa close; ancillary teaching embedded in narrative rather than cosmological/genealogical pancalakṣaṇa content.
‘Parā gati’ can be read as the principle of surrender: the text channels the psychology of devotion into a concrete daily focus, turning ordinary obligation into a path of single-minded dedication.
