Adhyaya 14 — The Messenger of Yama Explains Karmic Retribution and the Causes of Naraka Torments
दत्त्वा कन्यां च एकस्मै द्वितीयाय प्रयच्छति ।
स त्वेवं नैकधाच्छिन्नः क्षारनद्यां प्रवाह्यते ॥
dattvā kanyāṃ ca ekasmai dvitīyāya prayacchati /
sa tv evaṃ naikadhā chinnaḥ kṣāra-nadyāṃ pravāhyate
ഒരു പുരുഷനു കന്യയെ നൽകി പിന്നെ അവളെ രണ്ടാമനു നൽകുന്നവൻ പല കഷണങ്ങളായി വെട്ടിക്കീറപ്പെടുകയും കഠിനമായ ഉപ്പുക്ഷാര നദിയിൽ ഒഴുക്കിക്കൊണ്ടുപോകപ്പെടുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു।
