पार्थै: संयुज्यमानस्य नेदुर्मत्स्यस्य वेश्मनि । भक्ष्यान्नभोज्यपानानि प्रभूतान्यभ्यहारयन्‌,तदनन्तर कुन्तीपुत्रोंके साथ सम्बन्ध स्थापित करनेवाले मत्स्यनरेशके महलमें शंख, नगाड़े, गोमुख और डम्बर आदि भाँति-भाँतिके बाजे बजने लगे। साथ ही उन्होंने खानेयोग्य अन्न, भोज्य और पीने आदिकी सामग्री भी प्रचुर मात्रामें प्रस्तुत की

pārthaiḥ saṃyujyamānasya nedur matsyasya veśmani | bhakṣyānna-bhojya-pānāni prabhūtāny abhyahārayan ||

വൈശമ്പായനൻ പറഞ്ഞു— മത്സ്യരാജാവ് പൃഥാപുത്രന്മാരായ പാണ്ഡവരുമായി സഖ്യബന്ധം സ്ഥാപിക്കുമ്പോൾ, അവന്റെ കൊട്ടാരമൊട്ടാകെ ശംഖങ്ങളും ഭേരികളും ഗോമുഖവും ഡംബരവും മുതലായ നാനാവിധ വാദ്യങ്ങൾ മുഴങ്ങി. അതോടൊപ്പം സത്കാരാർത്ഥം ഭക്ഷ്യ-ഭോജ്യ-പാനീയങ്ങൾ സമൃദ്ധമായി മുന്നോട്ടു കൊണ്ടുവന്നു.
