Arjuna–Duryodhana Engagement and Admonition

अवोच: परुषा वाचो धर्ममुत्सूज्य केवलम्‌ | इदं तु दुष्करं मन्ये यदिदं ते चिकीर्षितम्‌,पहले तूने केवल धर्मकी अवहेलना करके बड़ी कठोर बातें कही हैं, परंतु तू जो कुछ करना चाहता है, वह तेरे लिये मैं अत्यन्त दुष्कर समझता हूँ

avocaḥ paruṣā vāco dharmam utsṛjya kevalam | idaṁ tu duṣkaraṁ manye yad idaṁ te cikīrṣitam ||

അർജുനൻ പറഞ്ഞു—നീ ധർമ്മത്തെ പൂർണ്ണമായി ഉപേക്ഷിച്ച് കഠിനവാക്കുകൾ പറഞ്ഞു; എന്നാൽ ഇപ്പോൾ നീ ചെയ്യാൻ ഉദ്ദേശിക്കുന്നതു നിനക്കു അത്യന്തം ദുഷ്കരമാണെന്ന് ഞാൻ കരുതുന്നു।
