Bhīṣma–Arjuna Strategic Engagement at Virāṭa’s Frontier (भीष्मार्जुनयुद्धम्)
ततः प्रववृते युद्ध पृथिव्यामेकवीरयो: । रणमध्ये द्वयोरेवं सुमहल्लोमहर्षणम्,इसके बाद उस रणभूमिमें भूमण्डलके इन दोनों अनुपम वीरोंका ऐसा भयंकर संग्राम हुआ, जो रोंगटे खड़े कर देनेवाला था
tataḥ pravavṛte yuddhaṃ pṛthivyām ekavīrayoḥ | raṇamadhye dvayor evaṃ sumahallomaharṣaṇam ||
അതിനുശേഷം ആ യുദ്ധഭൂമിയിൽ ആ രണ്ട് അപൂർവ വീരന്മാരുടെ ദ്വന്ദ്വയുദ്ധം ആരംഭിച്ചു. രണത്തിന്റെ നടുവിൽ അവരുടെ ഏറ്റുമുട്ടൽ അത്യന്തം ഭീകരവും രോമാഞ്ചം പകരുന്നതുമായിത്തീർന്നു।
