सच्छिन्नधन्वा विरथो हताश्वो हतसारथि: । गदापाणिरवसप्लुत्य तूर्ण चिक्षेप तां गदाम्,इस प्रकार धनुष, रथ, घोड़े और सारथि आदिके नष्ट हो जानेपर कृपाचार्य हाथमें गदा लिये रथसे कूद पड़े और तुरंत ही उसे अर्जुनपर दे मारा
sacchinna-dhanvā viratho hatāśvo hata-sārathiḥ | gadā-pāṇir avasaplutya tūrṇaṃ cikṣepa tāṃ gadām |
വൈശമ്പായനൻ പറഞ്ഞു— ധനുസ്സ് തകർന്നു, രഥം നഷ്ടമായി, കുതിരകൾ കൊല്ലപ്പെട്ടു, സാരഥിയും ഹതനായപ്പോൾ, കൃപാചാര്യൻ ഗദ കൈയിൽ പിടിച്ച് രഥത്തിൽ നിന്ന് ചാടി ഇറങ്ങി, ഉടൻ തന്നെ ആ ഗദ അർജുനനിലേക്കെറിഞ്ഞു।
