कुरुसेनाशरीराणि पार्थेनैवाहतान्यपि । सेदु: पार्थहतानीव पार्थकर्मानुशासनात्
vaiśampāyana uvāca |
kurusenāśarīrāṇi pārthenaivāhatāny api |
seduḥ pārthahatānīva pārthakarmānuśāsanāt ||
വൈശമ്പായനൻ പറഞ്ഞു—കുരു യോദ്ധാക്കളുടെ ശരീരങ്ങൾ, പാർത്ഥൻ (അർജുനൻ) വെറും പ്രഹരമാത്രം ഏറ്റിട്ടും, ഛിന്നഭിന്നമായി കീറിപ്പോയി. പാർത്ഥന്റെ അമ്പുകൾകൊണ്ട് വധിക്കപ്പെട്ടവരെപ്പോലെ അവർ നിലത്ത് കിടന്നു; യുദ്ധത്തിൽ പാർത്ഥന്റെ പ്രവർത്തിയുടെ വേഗവും വൈദഗ്ധ്യവും അത്തരം ആയതിനാൽ അതിന് യോജിച്ച ഉപമ പാർത്ഥൻ തന്നെയായിരുന്നു.
