Uttara–Arjuna Saṃvāda and the Re-Arming of Gāṇḍīva
Virāṭa-parva, Adhyāya 40
ऑरड.2 का. | हि 7 यु चत्वारिशो< ध्याय: अर्जुनका उत्तरको शमीवृक्षसे अस्त्र उतारनेके लिये आदेश वैशम्पायन उवाच तां शमीमुपसंगम्य पार्थो वैराटिमब्रवीत् | सुकुमारं समाज्ञाय संग्रामे नातिकोविदम्,वैशम्पायनजी कहते हैं-जनमेजय! उस शमीवृक्षके समीप पहुँचकर अर्जुनने विराटकुमार उत्तरको सुकुमार तथा युद्धकी कलामें पूर्णतया कुशल न जानकर उससे कहा --
Vaiśampāyana uvāca | tāṃ śamīm upasaṅgamya pārtho vairāṭim abravīt | sukumāraṃ samājñāya saṅgrāme nātikovidam ||
വൈശമ്പായനൻ പറഞ്ഞു—ഹേ ജനമേജയ! ആ ശമീമരത്തിനടുത്തെത്തി പാർത്ഥൻ (അർജുനൻ) വിരാടപുത്രൻ ഉത്തരനോട് സംസാരിച്ചു. അവൻ സുകുമാരനും യുദ്ധകലയിൽ പൂർണ്ണമായി നിപുണനല്ലെന്നും അറിഞ്ഞ് അർജുനൻ അവനോട് ഇങ്ങനെ പറഞ്ഞു—
