उत्तरो बृहन्नडां सारथ्याय नियुङ्क्ते — Uttara Appoints Bṛhannadā as Charioteer
राजपुत्र हितप्रेप्सु: क्षिप्रं निर्याहि च स्वयम् । त्वां हि मत्स्यो महीपाल: शून्यपालमिहाकरोत्,*राजपुत्र! आप इस राज्यके हितैषी हैं, अतः स्वयं ही युद्धके लिये तैयार होकर निकलिये। मत्स्यनरेशने अपनी अनुपस्थितिमें आपको ही यहाँका रक्षक नियुक्त किया है
rājaputra hitaprepsuḥ kṣipraṁ niryāhi ca svayam | tvāṁ hi matsyo mahīpālaḥ śūnyapālam ihākarot ||
ഹേ രാജപുത്രാ! നീ രാജ്യഹിതം ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നവൻ; അതിനാൽ നീ തന്നെ വേഗത്തിൽ പുറപ്പെട്ടു യുദ്ധത്തിനായി സജ്ജനാകുക. കാരണം ഭൂപതി മത്സ്യരാജൻ തന്റെ അഭാവത്തിൽ നിന്നെയാണിവിടെ കാവലാളായി നിയമിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നത്.
