Virāṭa-parva Adhyāya 21 — Kīcaka’s clandestine approach and Bhīma’s covert intervention (नर्तनागारे कीचकवध-प्रसङ्गः)
तत्र मां धर्मराजस्तु कटाक्षेण न््यवारयत् | तदहं तस्य विज्ञाय स्थित एवास्मि भामिनि,किंतु धर्मराजने वहाँ नेत्रोंसे संकेत करके मुझे ऐसा करनेसे रोक दिया। भामिनि! उनके उस इशारेको समझकर ही मैं चुप रह गया
tatra māṃ dharmarājas tu kaṭākṣeṇa nyavārayat | tad ahaṃ tasya vijñāya sthita evāsmi bhāmini |
അവിടെ ധർമ്മരാജൻ യുധിഷ്ഠിരൻ ഒരു നോട്ടം കൊണ്ടുതന്നെ എന്നെ തടഞ്ഞു. ഭാമിനി! ആ സൂചന മനസ്സിലാക്കി ഞാൻ അതേപടി—മൗനവും ആത്മസംയമവും പാലിച്ച്—നിന്നു.
भीमसेन उवाच
True strength includes restraint: Bhīma, though capable of immediate action, submits to Dharmarāja’s silent command, showing that dharma often requires patience, discipline, and obedience to wise leadership.
Bhīma is about to act, but Yudhiṣṭhira stops him with a glance. Bhīma understands the nonverbal instruction and remains quiet, maintaining the required conduct for the situation.
