तत्र वेदेषु नष्टेषु मुनेरड्धिरस: सुतः । ऋषीणामुत्तरीयेषु सूपविष्टो यथासुखम्,एक समय उन ऋषियोंको सारा वेद भूल गया। इस प्रकार वेदोंके नष्ट होने (भूल जाने)-पर अंगिरा मुनिका पुत्र ऋषियोंके उत्तरीय वस्त्रों (चादरों)-में छिपकर सुखपूर्वक बैठ गया (और विधिपूर्वक 3कारका उच्चारण करने लगा)
tatra vedeṣu naṣṭeṣu muner arddhirasaḥ sutaḥ | ṛṣīṇām uttarīyeṣu sūpaviṣṭo yathāsukham ||
അവിടെ ഒരിക്കൽ വേദങ്ങൾ നഷ്ടപ്പെട്ടപ്പോൾ (മറന്നുപോയപ്പോൾ), അർദ്ധിരസ മുനിയുടെ പുത്രൻ ഋഷിമാരുടെ ഉത്തരീയവസ്ത്രങ്ങൾക്കിടയിൽ ഒളിഞ്ഞ് സുഖമായി ഇരുന്നു.
