स पितृस्तर्पयामास देवांश्व॒ परमद्युतिः । ऋषींश्व॒ तर्पपामास विधिदृष्टेन कर्मणा,परम तेजस्वी भीष्मजीने वहाँ शास्त्रीय विधिके अनुसार देवताओं, ऋषियों तथा पितरोंका तर्पण किया
sa pitṝs tarpayāmāsa devāṁś ca paramadyutiḥ | ṛṣīṁś ca tarpayāmāsa vidhidṛṣṭena karmaṇā ||
പരമ തേജസ്സുള്ള ഭീഷ്മൻ ശാസ്ത്രവിധിപ്രകാരം പിതൃകൾക്ക് തർപ്പണം നടത്തി; അതുപോലെ ദേവന്മാരെയും ഋഷിമാരെയും വിധിപൂർവ്വം തൃപ്തിപ്പെടുത്തുകയും ചെയ്തു।
