ममैष लक्ष्यभूतो हि मम पूर्वपरिग्रह: । ममैव च प्रहारेण जीविताद्‌ व्यपरोपित:

mamaiṣa lakṣyabhūto hi mama pūrvaparigrahaḥ | mamaiva ca prahāreṇa jīvitād vyaparopitaḥ ||

കിരാതൻ പറഞ്ഞു—ഇവൻ ആദ്യം തന്നെ എന്റെ ലക്ഷ്യമായിരുന്നു; അതിനാൽ ഇവനിൽ മുൻ അവകാശം എനിക്കാണ്. എന്റെ തന്നെ പ്രഹാരത്താൽ ഈ ദാനവൻ ജീവൻ നഷ്ടപ്പെട്ടു.
