अरणीसहितं मन्थं ब्राह्मणस्य तपस्विन: । मृगस्य घर्षमाणस्य विषाणे समसज्जत,एक तपस्वी ब्राह्मणका (रस्सीमें बँधा) अरणीसहित मन्थनकाष्ठ एक वृक्षमें रंगा था; वहीं एक मृग आकर उस वृक्षसे अपना शरीर रगड़ने लगा। उस समय वे दोनों काष्ठ उस मृगके सींगमें अटक गये

Transliteration

araṇīsahitaṃ manthaṃ brāhmaṇasya tapasvinaḥ | mṛgasya gharṣamāṇasya viṣāṇe samasajjata ||

Translation

ഒരു തപസ്വിയായ ബ്രാഹ്മണന്റെ അരണിയോടുകൂടിയ മഥനകാഷ്ഠം (കയറിൽ ബന്ധിച്ചതു) ഒരു വൃക്ഷത്തിൽ കുടുങ്ങിയിരുന്നു. അപ്പോൾ ഒരു മാൻ വന്ന് ആ വൃക്ഷത്തിൽ ശരീരം ഉരസിയതോടെ, ആ പവിത്ര കാഷ്ഠങ്ങൾ അതിന്റെ കൊമ്പുകളിൽ കുടുങ്ങിപ്പോയി.
