ततः संवत्सरे पूर्णो यदासौ जपतां वर: । नापश्यद्‌ दुष्कृतं किंचित्‌ पृथाया: सौहृदे रत:

tataḥ saṃvatsare pūrṇe yadāsau japatāṃ varaḥ | nāpaśyad duṣkṛtaṃ kiṃcit pṛthāyāḥ sauhṛde rataḥ ||

അനന്തരം ഒരു വർഷം പൂർണ്ണമായപ്പോൾ, ജപതപങ്ങളിൽ ശ്രേഷ്ഠനായ ആ ബ്രാഹ്മണൻ—പൃഥാ (കുന്തി)യോടുള്ള സ്നേഹസൗഹൃദത്തിൽ നിരതനായി—അവളിൽ ലേശമാത്രം പോലും ദോഷമോ ദുഷ്കൃത്യമോ കണ്ടില്ല.
