अस्तौषं तमहं देवं सत्येन वचसा विभुम् | पज्च वै तेन मे दत्ता वरा: शूणुत तान् मम,उस समय मैंने सत्यवचनोंद्वारा उन भगवान् यमकी स्तुति की। तब उन्होंने मुझे पाँच वर दिये। उन वरोंको आप मुझसे सुनिये
astauṣaṃ tam ahaṃ devaṃ satyena vacasā vibhum | pañca vai tena me dattā varāḥ śṛṇuta tān mama ||
അപ്പോൾ ഞാൻ സത്യവചനങ്ങളാൽ ആ മഹാവിഭുവായ ദേവൻ യമനെ സ്തുതിച്ചു. പ്രസന്നനായി അദ്ദേഹം എനിക്ക് അഞ്ചു വരങ്ങൾ നൽകി. ആ വരങ്ങൾ എന്റെ വായിൽ നിന്ന് കേൾക്കുക.
