Skanda–Mātṛgaṇa-janma: Kumārakāḥ, Kanyāgaṇāḥ, and the Vīrāṣṭaka (स्कन्द-मातृगण-सम्भवः)
ऋषिरुवाच नान्यथा भविता शाप एवमेतदसंशयम् | आनृशंस्यात् त्वहं किज्चित् कर्तनुग्रहमद्य ते,ऋषिने कहा--यह शाप टल नहीं सकता। ऐसा होकर ही रहेगा, इसमें संशय नहीं है। परंतु मेरा स्वभाव क्रूर नहीं है, इसलिये मैं तुझपर आज कुछ अनुग्रह करता हूँ
ṛṣir uvāca nānyathā bhavitā śāpa evam etad asaṁśayam | ānṛśaṁsyāt tv ahaṁ kiñcit kartānugraham adya te ||
ഋഷി പറഞ്ഞു—ഇത് മറ്റെങ്ങനെ സംഭവിക്കില്ല; ഈ ശാപം തീർച്ചയായും ഫലിക്കും, സംശയമില്ല. എങ്കിലും ഞാൻ സ്വഭാവത്തിൽ ക്രൂരനല്ല; കരുണകൊണ്ട് ഇന്ന് ഞാൻ നിന്നോട് കുറെ അനുഗ്രഹം ചെയ്യും.
