अग्निवंशवर्णनम् (Agni-vaṃśa-varṇana) / The Genealogy and Function of Agni
एते पञ्चदश ब्रह्मन् गुणा भूतेषु पजचसु । वर्तन्ते सर्वभूतेषु येषु लोका: प्रतिछ्ठिता:,ब्रह्मन! इस प्रकार पाँचों भूतोंमें ये पंद्रह गुण बताये गये हैं। इन्हींमें सम्पूर्ण लोक प्रतिष्ठित हैं
ete pañcadaśa brahman guṇā bhūteṣu pañcasu | vartante sarvabhūteṣu yeṣu lokāḥ pratiṣṭhitāḥ ||
ഹേ ബ്രാഹ്മണാ! പഞ്ച മഹാഭൂതങ്ങളിൽ ഈ പതിനഞ്ച് ഗുണങ്ങൾ നിലകൊള്ളുന്നു. അവ സർവ്വഭൂതങ്ങളിലും പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നു; അവയിലാണു ലോകങ്ങൾ പ്രതിഷ്ഠിതമായിരിക്കുന്നത്.
