Educational Q&A

Even grave wrongdoing is not met only with despair; dharmic disciplines—especially charity, truthfulness, and devoted service to the teacher—are presented as effective means to reach a settled resolution and move toward release from the burden of a terrible act.

Mārkaṇḍeya, speaking as a revered sage, instructs his listener about how one may find a sure course regarding the consequences of a dreadful deed, listing concrete dharmic practices (dāna, satyavākya, and guruśuśrūṣā) as remedies and guiding principles.
