Dharma-vyādha on the Subtlety of Dharma, Karma, and the Continuity of the Jīva (Āraṇyaka-parva 200)
स मां प्रावारकर्ण चोलूकं॑ यथोचिते स्थाने प्रतिपाद्य तेनैव यानेन संस्थितो यथोचितं स्थानं प्रतिपेदे । तन्मयानुभूतं॑ चिरजीविनेदृशमिति पाण्डवानुवाच मार्कण्डेय:
sa māṃ prāvārakarṇa-colūkaṃ yathocite sthāne pratipādya tenaiva yānena saṃsthito yathocitaṃ sthānaṃ pratipede | tan-mayānubhūtaṃ cirajīvinā īdṛśam iti pāṇḍavān uvāca mārkaṇḍeyaḥ |
ഇങ്ങനെ പറഞ്ഞ് അവൻ എന്നെ—പ്രാവാരകർണ്ണൻ എന്ന പേരുള്ള മൂങ്ങയോടുകൂടി, ചോലം (ആവരണം) ധരിച്ച് കർണാഭരണങ്ങൾ അണിഞ്ഞ നിലയിൽ—യഥോചിതസ്ഥാനത്ത് എത്തിച്ചു. പിന്നെ അതേ യാനത്തിൽ തന്നെ ഇരുന്നുകൊണ്ട് അവൻ തന്റെ യോജ്യധാമത്തിലേക്ക് മടങ്ങി. അപ്പോൾ ദീർഘായുസ്സനായ മാർക്കണ്ഡേയൻ പാണ്ഡവരോട് പറഞ്ഞു—“ഇത്തരമൊരു അത്ഭുതാനുഭവം ഞാൻ സ്വയം അനുഭവിച്ചതാണ്.”
