लोमश उवाच शृणुष्वावहितो राजनू् राज्ञस्तस्य महात्मन: । यथा मान्धातृशब्दो वै लोकेषु परिगीयते,लोमशजीने कहा--राजन्! लोकमें उन महामना नरेशका “*मान्धाता” नाम कैसे प्रचलित हुआ? यह बतलाता हूँ, ध्यान देकर सुनो
Lomaśa uvāca: śṛṇuṣvāvahito rājan rājñas tasya mahātmanaḥ | yathā Māndhātṛ-śabdo vai lokeṣu parigīyate ||
ലോമശൻ പറഞ്ഞു—ഹേ രാജാവേ, ശ്രദ്ധയോടെ കേൾക്കുക. ആ മഹാത്മാവായ നരേശന്റെ ‘മാൻധാതൃ’ എന്ന നാമം ലോകങ്ങളിൽ എങ്ങനെ പാടിപ്പുകഴ്ത്തപ്പെടുന്നു എന്നത് ഞാൻ വിശദീകരിക്കുന്നു.
