प्राज्वलन्नग्नयो राजन् पृथिवी समकम्पत । उदपानाश्न कुम्भाश्न प्रासिज्चड्छतशो जलम्,राजन! सब ओर आग जलने लगी। धरती डोलने लगी। सैकड़ों जलाशय और कलश छलक-छलककर जल गिराने लगे
prajvalannagnayo rājan pṛthivī samakampata | udapānāś ca kumbhāś ca prāsicyañ chatāśo jalam ||
രാജാവേ! എല്ലാടവും അഗ്നികൾ ജ്വലിച്ചു; ഭൂമി കുലുങ്ങി. കിണറുകളും ജലകുംഭങ്ങളും സ്വയം നിറഞ്ഞൊഴുകി, നൂറുകണക്കിന് ധാരകളായി വെള്ളം ചൊരിയാൻ തുടങ്ങി.
वैशम्पायन उवाच

Vaiśampāyana reports extraordinary omens: widespread fires flare up, the earth shakes, and wells and water-jars spill water as if overflowing—signals that a moment of great crisis is near.
