वैशम्पायन उवाच
Even at the brink of conflict, dharma prioritizes sincere efforts toward reconciliation. Kṛṣṇa’s ‘yāna’ (mission) is framed as a moral duty: exhausting peaceful counsel before accepting the tragic necessity of war.
This line is a chapter-ending colophon. It signals the close of the eighty-third chapter within the Udyoga Parva’s Bhagavad-yāna section, specifically the episode describing Śrī Kṛṣṇa’s departure on his diplomatic mission.
