विदितं ते महाबाहो धर्मज्ञ मधुसूदन । यथा निकृतिमास्थाय भ्रृशिता: पाण्डवा: सुखात्‌,धर्मके ज्ञाता महाबाहु मधुसूदन! आपको तो मालूम ही है कि मन्सत्रियोंसहित धृतराष्ट्रपुत्र दुर्योधनने किस प्रकार शठताका आश्रय लेकर पाण्डवोंको सुखसे वंचित कर दिया। दशाहनन्दन! राजा धृतराष्ट्रने युधिष्ठिस्से कहनेके लिये संजयको एकान्तमें जो मन्त्र (अपना विचार) सुनाकर यहाँ भेजा था, वह भी आपको ज्ञात ही है तथा धर्मराजने संजयसे जैसी बातें कही थीं, उन सबको भी आपने सुन ही लिया है

viditaṁ te mahābāho dharmajña madhusūdana | yathā nikṛtim āsthāya bhraṁśitāḥ pāṇḍavāḥ sukhāt ||

മഹാബാഹുവേ, ധർമ്മജ്ഞനായ മധുസൂദനാ! വഞ്ചനയെ ആശ്രയിച്ച് പാണ്ഡവർ എങ്ങനെ സുഖത്തിൽ നിന്ന് അകറ്റപ്പെട്ടു എന്നത് നിനക്കറിയാം.
