Reconciling Contingency and Human Effort
य एतत् प्राप्य मुच्येत न त॑ पश्यामि पूरुषम् । लोहेके विशाल परिघोंकी भाँति मेरी इन मोटी भुजाओंका मध्यभाग कैसा है
ya etat prāpya mucyeta na taṁ paśyāmi pūruṣam |
എന്റെ ഈ കട്ടിയുള്ള ഭുജങ്ങളുടെ പിടിയിലേക്കു കടന്ന് പിന്നെ രക്ഷപ്പെട്ടു ജീവനോടെ പുറത്തുവരുന്ന ഒരാളെയും ഞാൻ കാണുന്നില്ല. ഇരുമ്പിന്റെ മഹാ പരിഘങ്ങളെപ്പോലെ എന്റെ ഭുജമദ്ധ്യത്തിന്റെ ബലം നോക്കുക; ഇതിൽ കുടുങ്ങുന്നവൻ ജീവനോടെ പുറത്തുവരുകയില്ല.
