Udyoga Parva, Adhyāya 73 — Kr̥ṣṇa’s Appraisal of Bhīma’s Altered Temper and Reaffirmation of Martial Resolve

प्रकृत्या पापसत्त्वश्न तुल्यचेतास्तु दस्युभि: । ऐश्वर्यमदमत्तश्न कृतवैरश्न पाण्डवै:,दुर्योधन स्वभावसे ही पापात्मा है। उसके हृदयमें डाकुओंके समान क्रूरता भरी रहती है। वह ऐश्वर्यके मदसे उन्मत्त हो गया है और पाण्डवोंके साथ सदा वैर बाँधे रखता है

prakṛtyā pāpasattvaś ca tulyacetāstu dasyubhiḥ | aiśvaryamadamattas ca kṛtavairaś ca pāṇḍavaiḥ ||

ദുര്യോധനൻ സ്വഭാവത്താൽ തന്നെ പാപാത്മാവാണ്; അവന്റെ ചിത്തം ദസ്യുക്കളെപ്പോലെ ക്രൂരമാണ്. ഐശ്വര്യമദത്തിൽ മത്തനായി, പാണ്ഡവരോടു മനപ്പൂർവം സ്ഥിരവൈരം കെട്ടിപ്പിടിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.
