अस्मान् वेत्थ परान् वेत्थ वेत्थार्थान् वेत्थ भाषितुम् । यद् यदस्मद्धितं कृष्ण तत् तद् वाच्य: सुयोधन:,श्रीकृष्ण! आप हमको जानते हैं, कौरवोंको भी जानते हैं, हम दोनोंके स्वार्थोंसे भी आप अपरिचित नहीं हैं और बातचीत कैसे करनी चाहिये, यह भी आपको अच्छी तरह ज्ञात है। अतः जिस-जिस बातसे हमारा हित हो, वह सब आप दुर्योधनको बतावें
asmān vettha parān vettha vetthārthān vettha bhāṣitum | yad yadasmaddhitaṃ kṛṣṇa tat tad vācyaḥ suyodhanaḥ ||
ശ്രീകൃഷ്ണാ! നീ ഞങ്ങളെയും മറുപക്ഷത്തെയും (കൗരവരെയും) അറിയുന്നു; ഇരുപക്ഷത്തിന്റെയും താൽപര്യങ്ങൾ നീ ഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നു; ഉപദേശത്തിൽ എങ്ങനെ സംസാരിക്കണം എന്നും നിനക്ക് നന്നായി അറിയാം. അതിനാൽ, ഹേ കൃഷ്ണാ, ഞങ്ങളുടെ ഹിതത്തിനായി നീ യുക്തമെന്ന് കാണുന്നതെല്ലാം സുവ്യോധനനോട് (ദുര്യോധനനോട്) പറയുക.
