ब्रूहि संजय यच्छेषं वासुदेवादनन्तरम्‌ । यदर्जुन उवाच त्वां परं कौतूहलं हि मे,“संजय! बताओ, भगवान्‌ श्रीकृष्णके पश्चात्‌ अर्जुनने जो अन्तिम संदेश दिया था, उसे सुननेके लिये मेरे मनमें बड़ा कौतूहल हो रहा है'

brūhi saṃjaya yaccheṣaṃ vāsudevād anantaram | yad arjuna uvāca tvāṃ paraṃ kautūhalaṃ hi me || 2 ||

സഞ്ജയാ! വാസുദേവൻ (ശ്രീകൃഷ്ണൻ) പറഞ്ഞതിന് ശേഷം എന്താണ് ശേഷിച്ചതെന്ന്—അർജുനൻ നിന്നോട് പറഞ്ഞ അവസാന സന്ദേശം എന്തെന്ന്—പറയുക. അത് കേൾക്കാൻ എനിക്ക് അത്യന്തം കൗതുകമുണ്ട്.
