उद्योगपर्व — अध्याय ५४: दुर्योधनस्य धृतराष्ट्रं प्रति बलप्रशंसन-युक्तः आश्वासनवादः

Duryodhana’s Reassurance and Force-Praise to Dhritarashtra

दुर्योधनसमो नास्ति गदायामिति निश्चय: । संकर्षणस्य भद्रें ते यत्‌ तदैेनमुपावसम्‌,आपका कल्याण हो। बलरामजीका भी यही निश्चय है कि गदायुद्धमें दुर्योधनके समान दूसरा कोई नहीं है। यह बात उन्होंने उस समय कही थी, जब मैं उनके पास रहकर गदाकी शिक्षा ले रहा था

duryodhanasamo nāsti gadāyām iti niścayaḥ | saṅkarṣaṇasya bhadraṃ te yat tadaivainam upāvasam |

നിനക്കു മംഗളം. ഗദായുദ്ധത്തിൽ ദുര്യോധനനു തുല്യൻ മറ്റാരുമില്ല എന്നത് സംകർഷണൻ (ബലരാമൻ) തന്നെയും ഉറച്ച നിശ്ചയമായി പറയുന്നു. ഞാൻ അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ സന്നിധിയിൽ പാർത്ത് ഗദാശിക്ഷണം കൈക്കൊണ്ടിരുന്ന സമയത്താണ് അദ്ദേഹം ഇങ്ങനെ പറഞ്ഞത്।
