Udyoga-parva Adhyāya 50 — Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s Appraisal of Bhīmasena (भीमसेनभयवर्णनम्)
निष्कर्णामायसी स्थूलां सुपार्श्वा काउ्चनीं गदाम् | शतघ्नीं शतनिर्हादां कथं शक्ष्यन्ति मे सुता:
niṣkarṇāmāyasīṁ sthūlāṁ supārśvāṁ kāñcanīṁ gadām | śataghnīṁ śatanirghādāṁ kathaṁ śakṣyanti me sutāḥ ||
ധൃതരാഷ്ട്രൻ പറഞ്ഞു—അവന്റെ ഇരുമ്പുഗദ നേരായതും കട്ടിയുള്ളതും വശങ്ങളിൽ നന്നായി തുല്യവുമായതും സ്വർണാഭരണങ്ങളാൽ അലങ്കൃതവുമാണ്; അതിന്റെ ഘോഷം നൂറുനൂറു ഇടിമിന്നലുകളെപ്പോലെ മുഴങ്ങുന്നു, ഒറ്റ പ്രഹരത്തിൽ നൂറുകളെ വീഴ്ത്തുന്നു. എന്റെ പുത്രന്മാർ അതിന്റെ ആഘാതം എങ്ങനെ സഹിക്കും?
