इत्यब्रवीदर्जुनो योत्स्यमानो गाण्डीवधन्वा लोहितपदझनेत्र: । न चेद् राज्यं मुज्चति धार्तराष्ट्रो युधिष्ठिरस्थाजमीढस्य राज्ञ:
ity abravīd arjuno yotsyamāno gāṇḍīvadhanvā lohitapadma-netraḥ | na ced rājyaṃ muñcati dhārtarāṣṭro yudhiṣṭhirasthājamiḍhasya rājñaḥ ||
സഞ്ജയൻ പറഞ്ഞു—യുദ്ധത്തിന് സന്നദ്ധനായി, ഗാണ്ഡീവം ധരിച്ച്, ചുവന്ന താമരപോലെയുള്ള കണ്ണുകളുള്ള അർജുനൻ ഇങ്ങനെ പറഞ്ഞു—“അജമീഢവംശജനായ രാജാവ് യുധിഷ്ഠിരനു അവകാശപ്പെട്ട രാജ്യം ധൃതരാഷ്ട്രപുത്രൻ (ദുര്യോധനൻ) വിട്ടുനൽകുന്നില്ലെങ്കിൽ, യുദ്ധം തീർച്ച.”
