उद्धर्तयन् दस्युसड्घान् समेतान् प्रवर्तयन् युगमन्यद् युगान्ते । यदा थक्ष्याम्यग्निवत् कौरवेयां- स्तदा तप्ता धृतराष्ट्र: सपुत्र:
sañjaya uvāca |
uddhartayan dasyu-saṅghān sametān pravartayan yugam anyad yugānte |
yadā thakṣyāmy agnivat kauraveyāṁs tadā taptā dhṛtarāṣṭraḥ sa-putraḥ ||
സഞ്ജയൻ പറഞ്ഞു—യുദ്ധത്തിനായി ഒന്നിച്ചുകൂടിയ ഈ ദസ്യുസമൂഹങ്ങളെ സംഹരിച്ചു, യുഗാന്തത്തിൽ മറ്റൊരു യുഗം പ്രചരിപ്പിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ, ഞാൻ അഗ്നിപോലെ ജ്വലിച്ച് കൗരവരെ ദഹിപ്പിക്കാൻ തുടങ്ങുമ്പോൾ—ധൃതരാഷ്ട്രൻ പുത്രന്മാരോടുകൂടെ കടുത്ത സാന്താപത്തിൽ ചുട്ടുപൊള്ളും.
