यदा शिखण्डी रथिन: प्रचिन्वन् भीष्म रथेनाभियाता वरूथी । दिव्यैहयैरवमृद्नन् रथौघां- स्तदा युद्ध धार्तराष्ट्रोडन्वतप्स्यत्
sañjaya uvāca | yadā śikhaṇḍī rathinaḥ pracinvan bhīṣma-rathenābhiyātā varūthī | divyair hayair avamṛdnan rathaughāṃs tadā yuddhe dhārtarāṣṭro ’nvatapsyat ||
സഞ്ജയൻ പറഞ്ഞു—ശിഖണ്ഡി രഥത്തിന്റെ രക്ഷാസാധനങ്ങളാൽ സംരക്ഷിതനായി, രഥികളെ തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്ത് തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്ത് വധിച്ചുകൊണ്ട്, ദിവ്യാശ്വങ്ങളാൽ രഥസമൂഹങ്ങളെ ചവിട്ടി തകർത്തുകൊണ്ട്, രഥാരൂഢനായി ഭീഷ്മനെതിരെ പാഞ്ഞുചെന്നാൽ, യുദ്ധം ഉണർത്തിയതിന്റെ കാരണമോർത്ത് ധൃതരാഷ്ട്രപുത്രൻ ദുര്യോധനൻ കഠിന പശ്ചാത്താപത്തിൽ തപിക്കും।
