द्वेष्यो न साधुर्भवति न मेधावी न पण्डित: । प्रिये शुभानि कार्याणि द्वेष्पे पापानि चैव ह,जिससे द्वेष हो जाता है, वह न साधु, न विद्वान् और न बुद्धिमान् ही जान पड़ता है। प्रिय व्यक्ति (मित्र आदि)-के तो सभी कर्म शुभ ही प्रतीत होते हैं और शत्रुके सभी कार्य पापमय
Translation
ആരോടു ദ്വേഷം ജനിക്കുന്നുവോ, അവൻ സാദുവുമല്ല, മേധാവിയുമല്ല, പണ്ഡിതനുമല്ലെന്നു തോന്നുന്നു. പ്രിയജനത്തിന്റെ (മിത്രാദികളുടെ) എല്ലാ പ്രവൃത്തികളും ശുഭമായിത്തോന്നും; ദ്വേഷ്യന്റെ (ശത്രുവിന്റെ) എല്ലാ പ്രവൃത്തികളും പാപമയമായിത്തോന്നും.
