Educational Q&A

Choose association carefully: do not serve or rely on people whose habits—harmful action, negligence, lying, fickle loyalty, lack of affection, and arrogant cleverness—predict suffering and ethical harm.

In Vidura’s counsel (Vidura-hitavākya) within the Udyoga Parva, he instructs on practical dharma by listing character-types unfit for service or close association, emphasizing discernment in relationships during a tense political crisis.
