अध्याय २९ — वासुदेव–संजय संवादः
Karma, Varṇa-Dharma, and the Ethics of Governance
या नः स्नुषा: संजय वेत्थ तत्र प्राप्ता: कुलेभ्यश्व गुणोपपन्ना: । प्रजावत्यो ब्रूहि समेत्य ताश्न युधिष्ठिरो वो$भ्यवदत् प्रसन्न:
yā naḥ snuṣāḥ sañjaya vettha tatra prāptāḥ kulebhyaś ca guṇopapannāḥ | prajāvatyo brūhi sametya tāś ca yudhiṣṭhiro vo 'bhyavadat prasannaḥ ||
യുധിഷ്ഠിരൻ പറഞ്ഞു— “സഞ്ജയാ, അവിടെ നമ്മുടെ മരുമക്കൾ—ഉത്തമകുലങ്ങളിൽ നിന്ന് വന്നവർ, ഗുണസമ്പന്നർ, സന്താനവതികൾ—അവരെയും നീ അറിയുന്നു. ചെന്നു അവരെ കണ്ടുമുട്ടി ഇങ്ങനെ പറയുക: ‘മരുമക്കളേ, യുധിഷ്ഠിരൻ പ്രസന്നഹൃദയത്തോടെ നിങ്ങളുടെ കുശലം അന്വേഷിക്കുന്നു.’”
