Drupada’s Alarm and Inquiry Regarding Śikhaṇḍinī (द्रुपदस्य भय-विमर्शः)

स्वलंकृतमिदं वेश्म स्थूणस्यामितविक्रमा: । नोपसर्पति मां चैव कस्मादद्य स मन्दधी:

svalaṅkṛtam idaṁ veśma sthūṇasyāmitavikramāḥ | nopasarpati māṁ caiva kasmād adya sa mandadhīḥ ||

ഭീഷ്മൻ പറഞ്ഞു— “സ്ഥൂണന്റെ ഈ ഭവനം നന്നായി അലങ്കരിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു; അമിതപരാക്രമമുള്ള വീരന്മാർ ഇവിടെ തൂണുകളെപ്പോലെ നില്ക്കുന്നു. എന്നിട്ടും ആ മന്ദബുദ്ധി ഇന്ന് പോലും എനിക്ക് സമീപം വരാത്തത് എന്തുകൊണ്ട്?”
