भागीरथी च मे माता रणमध्यं प्रपेदिरे तथैवात्तशरो धन्वी तथैव दृढनिश्चय: । स्थिरो5हमाहवे योद्धुं ततस्ते राममब्रुवन्‌

Transliteration

Bhāgīrathī ca me mātā raṇamadhyaṃ prapedire tathaivāttaśaro dhanvī tathaiva dṛḍhaniścayaḥ | sthiro 'ham āhave yoddhuṃ tatas te Rāmam abruvan |

Translation

എന്റെ മാതാവ് ഭാഗീരഥി (ഗംഗ)യും യുദ്ധത്തിന്റെ നടുവിലേക്കെത്തി. ഞാനും അതുപോലെ—അമ്പുകൾ എടുത്ത്, വില്ല് കൈയിൽ പിടിച്ച്, ദൃഢനിശ്ചയത്തോടെ—പോരിൽ യുദ്ധിക്കാൻ അചഞ്ചലമായി നിന്നു. പിന്നെ അവർ രാമനോട് പറഞ്ഞു.
