अयुतान्यथ खर्वाणि निखर्वाणि च कौरव । राम: शराणां संक्रुद्धो मयि तूर्ण न्‍्यपातयत्‌

ayutāny atha kharvāṇi nikharvāṇi ca kaurava | rāmaḥ śarāṇāṃ saṃkruddho mayi tūrṇaṃ nyapātayat ||

ഹേ കൗരവാ! അപ്പോൾ ക്രോധത്തിൽ ജ്വലിച്ച രാമൻ (പരശുരാമൻ) എന്റെ മേൽ അതിവേഗം അസംഖ്യമായ അമ്പുകളുടെ മഴ പെയ്തു—അയുതങ്ങളിൽ നിന്ന് ഖർവ-നിഖർവ വരെ—ശുദ്ധബലത്തോടെ എന്നെ അടിച്ചമർത്തുവാൻ ഉദ്ദേശിച്ചതുപോലെ.
