Bhishma’s Account of Parashurama’s Challenge and the March to Kurukshetra
tato mām avahat sūto hayaiḥ paramaśobhibhiḥ taiḥ | nṛtyaddhir iva kauravya mārutapratimair gatiḥ ||
The verse highlights readiness for one’s appointed duty: even before the clash, disciplined preparation and capable support (the charioteer and swift horses) enable a warrior to meet the demands of dharma in a time of conflict.
Bhishma recounts being taken by his charioteer in a chariot drawn by exceptionally splendid, wind-swift horses, whose rapid motion makes them appear to dance, as he is conveyed toward the battlefield/scene of impending action.
