Amba–Rama–Bhishma Dialogue on Vow and Refuge

evam uktvā yayau rāmaḥ kurukṣetraṁ yuyutsayā | praviśya nagaraṁ cāhaṁ satyavatyai nyavedayam ||

Educational Q&A

Two duties are highlighted: the warrior’s resolve to face conflict when honor and obligation demand it, and the ethical responsibility to communicate truthfully and promptly to elders who bear familial and political authority.

After declaring his intent, Parashurama leaves for Kurukshetra seeking battle. Bhishma then returns to the city and conveys the full report of these developments to Satyavati, marking a shift from confrontation to counsel and family governance.
