अम्बा–राम–भीष्म संवादः

Amba–Rama–Bhishma Dialogue on Vow and Refuge

यस्ते युद्धमयं दर्प कामं॑ च व्यपनाशयेत्‌ । सो<हं जातो महाबाहो भीष्म: परपुरंजय: । व्यपनेष्यामि ते दर्प युद्धे राम न संशय:,“महाबाहो! जो आपकी युद्धविषयक कामना तथा अभिमानको नष्ट कर सके, वह शत्रुनगरीपर विजय पानेवाला यह भीष्म तो अब उत्पन्न हुआ है। राम! मैं युद्धमें आपका सारा घमंड चूर-चूर कर दूँगा, इसमें संशय नहीं है”

yas te yuddhamayaṁ darpaṁ kāmaṁ ca vyapanāśayet | so 'haṁ jāto mahābāho bhīṣmaḥ parapuraṁjayaḥ | vyapaneṣyāmi te darpaṁ yuddhe rāma na saṁśayaḥ ||

മഹാബാഹോ! നിന്റെ യുദ്ധജന്യ ദർപ്പവും യുദ്ധകാമനയും നശിപ്പിക്കാൻ കഴിയുന്നവൻ—ശത്രുപുരജയിയായ ഭീഷ്മനായ ഞാൻ—ഇപ്പോൾ ജനിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു. രാമാ! യുദ്ധത്തിൽ നിന്റെ അഹങ്കാരം ഞാൻ തകർത്തുകളയും; സംശയമില്ല.
