उद्यन्तुं वा गदा गुर्वी: शरान्‌ वा क्षेप्तुमाहवे । जवे लक्ष्यस्य हरणे भोज्ये पांसुविकर्षणे

Transliteration

udyantuṁ vā gadā gurvīḥ śarān vā kṣeptum āhave | jave lakṣyasya haraṇe bhojye pāṁsuvikarṣaṇe

Translation

ഭാരമേറിയ ഗദ ഉയർത്തി പ്രയോഗിക്കുകയോ, യുദ്ധത്തിൽ അമ്പുകൾ എറിയുകയോ; വേഗത്തിൽ, ലക്ഷ്യം പിടിച്ചെടുക്കുന്നതിൽ/ഭേദിക്കുന്നതിൽ, ഭക്ഷണ-ബലത്തിൽ, ധൂളിയിൽ വലിച്ചിഴയ്ക്കുന്ന കസറത്തിൽ—(ഇവയൊക്കെയിലും) അവൻ ശ്രേഷ്ഠൻ.
