द्रोणपुत्रो महेष्वास: सवनिवाति धन्विनः । समरे चित्रयोधी च दृढास्त्रश्न महारथ:
droṇaputro maheṣvāsaḥ savanivāti dhanvinaḥ | samare citrayodhī ca dṛḍhāstraś ca mahārathaḥ ||
ദ്രോണപുത്രനായ അശ്വത്ഥാമ മഹാധനുർധരൻ; എല്ലാ ധനുർധരന്മാരിലും ശ്രേഷ്ഠൻ. യുദ്ധത്തിൽ അവൻ വിചിത്രമായ തന്ത്രങ്ങളോടെ പോരാടുന്നു; ദൃഢമായ അസ്ത്രശസ്ത്രങ്ങളാൽ സജ്ജനായ മഹാരഥിയാണ്.
