भीष्मद्रोणयोर्दुर्योधनं प्रति शमोपदेशः | Bhīṣma and Droṇa’s Counsel of Conciliation to Duryodhana
पित्र्यमंशं प्रणष्टं च पुनरप्युद्धरिष्यति । भ्रातृभि: सहित: श्रीमांस्त्रीन् मेधानाहरिष्यति
pitryam aṁśaṁ praṇaṣṭaṁ ca punar apy uddhariṣyati | bhrātṛbhiḥ sahitaḥ śrīmāṁs trīn medhān āhariṣyati |
നഷ്ടമായ പിതൃവിഹിതം അവൻ വീണ്ടും വീണ്ടെടുക്കും. സഹോദരന്മാരോടുകൂടെ ആ ശ്രീമാൻ മൂന്നു അശ്വമേധയാഗങ്ങൾ നടത്തും.
पुत्र उवाच
The verse frames righteous kingship as the recovery of one’s legitimate ancestral share and the re-establishment of order, followed by public acts of dharma such as great Vedic sacrifices performed in prosperity and stability.
A son speaks a prophetic assurance: the child/hero will regain the lost paternal portion of the realm and, together with his brothers, will later celebrate sovereignty and success by conducting three Aśvamedha sacrifices.
