Udyoga Parva — Gandhārī’s Counsel to Duryodhana
तदिदं व्यसन घोर त्वया द्यूतमुखं कृतम् असमीक्ष्य सदाचारान् सार्थ पापानुबन्धनै:,“तूने ही सदाचारकी ओर लक्ष्य न रखकर पापासक्त पुरुषोंके सहित भयंकर विपत्तिके कारणभूत ये द्यूतक्रीड़ा आदि कार्य किये हैं
tad idaṃ vyasanaṃ ghoraṃ tvayā dyūtamukhaṃ kṛtam, asamīkṣya sadācārān sārthaṃ pāpānubandhanaiḥ
സദാചാരത്തിന്റെ മാനദണ്ഡങ്ങളെ പരിഗണിക്കാതെ, പാപാസക്തരായ പുരുഷന്മാരുടെ കൂട്ടത്തിൽ, ദ്യൂതത്തിൽ ആരംഭിച്ച ഈ ഘോര ദുരന്തം നീ തന്നെയാണ് വരുത്തിയത്—ഇത് അനിവാര്യമായി കൂടുതൽ പാപത്തെയും നാശത്തെയും ബന്ധിപ്പിച്ചുകൊണ്ടുപോകുന്നു.
