Duryodhana’s Reply in the Kuru Assembly
Nakulaḥ Sahadevaś ca Dhṛṣṭadyumnaś ca Pārṣataḥ
The verse underscores the ethical weight of collective responsibility: key warriors and leaders are named as part of a larger alliance, implying that decisions leading toward war are borne not by one person alone but by an assembled community of duty-bound actors.
Vaiśampāyana lists prominent figures—Nakula, Sahadeva, and Dhṛṣṭadyumna (identified by the epithet Pārṣata)—as present/engaged in the ongoing mobilization and alignment of forces and leadership in the Udyoga Parva’s pre-war developments.
