ययातिदौहित्रपुण्यसमुच्चयः | Yayāti and the Grandsons’ Consolidation of Merit

'ये आपको तार देंगे। दौहित्रोंके द्वारा मातामह (नाना)-का यह उद्धार पुरातन वेदशास्त्रमें स्पष्ट देखा गया है। राजन! मैं आपकी पुत्री माधवी हूँ और इस तपोवनमें मृगोंके समान जीवनचर्या बनाकर विचरती हूँ ।। मयाप्युपचितो धर्मस्ततो<र्थ प्रतिगृह्मताम्‌ । यस्माद्‌ राजन्‌ नरा: सर्वे अपत्यफलभागिन:

mayāpy upacito dharmas tato 'rthaṃ pratigṛhṇatām | yasmād rājan narāḥ sarve apatyaphalabhāginaḥ ||

ഞാനും ധർമ്മം സമ്പാദിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്; അതിനാൽ ഈ കാര്യത്തിനായി അത് സ്വീകരിക്കണമേ. കാരണം, രാജാവേ, എല്ലാ മനുഷ്യരും സന്തതിയിൽ നിന്നുള്ള ഫലത്തിൽ പങ്കാളികളാണ്.
