शनै: स तु भवान्‌ यातु ब्रह्म॒वध्यामनुस्मरन्‌ । न दृश्यते रविस्तात न दिशो न च खं खग,तात गरुड़! तुमसे कहीं ब्रह्महत्या न हो जाय, इसका ध्यान रखते हुए धीरे-धीरे चलो। मुझे इस समय न तो सूर्य दिखायी देते हैं, न दिशाएँ सूझती हैं और न आकाश ही दृष्टिगोचर होता है

śanaiḥ sa tu bhavān yātu brahmavadhyām anusmaran | na dṛśyate ravis tāta na diśo na ca khaṃ khaga |

ഹേ ഖഗമേ! ബ്രഹ്മഹത്യയുടെ പാപഭയം ഓർത്തുകൊണ്ട് നീ പതുക്കെ പോകുക. ഇപ്പോൾ, പ്രിയനേ, സൂര്യനും കാണുന്നില്ല; ദിക്കുകളും തിരിച്ചറിയാനാകുന്നില്ല; ആകാശവും ദൃശ്യമല്ല.
