दक्षिणा-दिक्, पितृपक्ष-प्रतिष्ठा, तथा कर्मगतिः — Suparṇa’s Cosmographic Instruction

अदोमूला सुराणां श्रीर्यत्र शक्रो5 भ्यषिच्यत । सुरराज्येन विप्रर्षे देवैश्ञात्र तपश्चितम्‌,ब्रह्मर्ष! देवताओंकी लक्ष्मीका मूलस्थान पूर्व दिशा ही है। इसीमें इन्द्रका देवसम्राट्के पदपर प्रथम अभिषेक हुआ है और इसी दिशामें देवताओंने तपस्या की है

adomūlā surāṇāṃ śrīr yatra śakro 'bhyasicyata | surarājyena viprarṣe devaiś cātra tapaś citam ||

യൂപർണൻ പറഞ്ഞു— ഹേ ബ്രഹ്മർഷേ! ദേവന്മാരുടെ ഐശ്വര്യത്തിന്റെ മൂലസ്ഥാനം അതുതന്നെ—അവിടെയാണ് ശക്രൻ (ഇന്ദ്രൻ) ദേവരാജ്യാധിപത്യത്തിന് ആദ്യമായി അഭിഷിക്തനായത്. അതേ ദിക്കിലാണ് ദേവന്മാർ തപസ്സും അനുഷ്ഠിച്ചത്.
